Andover is a town in Allegany County, New York, United States. The population was 1,830 at the 2010 census. The town is on the eastern edge of Allegany County and contains the village of Andover.

The town's area was first settled around 1795. The Town of Andover was established in 1824 from part of the town of Independence. The size of the town was increased in 1855 by a part of the town of Wellsville.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 39.5 square miles (102.3 km2), of which 39.4 square miles (102.1 km2) is land and 0.077 square miles (0.2 km2), or 0.17%, is water.

The east town line is the border of Steuben County.
